Scan And Say is a TALKING BARCODE PROGRAM for Windows that allows vision-impaired people to easily distinguish items. Approximately 500,000 items are already in the Scan And Say database. You can also easily add new items.

Scan And Say is easy to customize. Change a product's description to whatever you want to hear. Have Scan And Say announce "My favorite ice cream". Add cooking instructions to the food descriptions. Scan And Say can even be used to create and print or read aloud a shopping list!

Use Scan And Say for any item in your house, including pharmaceuticals, canned goods, cereal boxes, frozen TV dinners, frozen juice containers - the list is endless. If an item does not already have a barcode, use one of the 500 pre-printed barcodes provided with Scan And Say.

Scan And Say can even be used to TIME STAMP items. This is especially helpful for remembering the last time a medication was taken, or to help track when a dairy item expires.

The barcode scanner provided with Scan And Say attaches to your PC with a 15 foot cable via your keyboard port, a COM (RS-232) port, or USB port (recommended). It can be used in hands-free mode with the adjustable mounting stand or as a hand-held scanner. The scanner emits a wide pattern of 20 scan lines instead of a single scan line, so the sight impaired can easily use this device.
